  • Daredevil Born Again: What we know about the return of the beloved Marvel show.

    July 28, 2022 2 min read

The rumours were absolutely right. At the spectacular San Diego Comic-Con, Marvel Studios confirmed that Charlie Cox will reprise his role as Daredevil. Long after Netflix cancelled our favourite Devil of Hell’s Kitchen, Cox’s Daredevil made his way back into the MCU in last year’s “Spider-Man: No Way Home,” in which he had a cameo role as his alter-ego, Matt Murdock.

But now it's confirmed Disney Plus is bringing him back for a much longer series. What can you expect, and when will you be able to see it? Continue reading to learn everything we know about Daredevil: Born Again.

    When will it arrive?

Daredevil: Born Again is scheduled to premiere in Spring 2024, with an initial run of 18 episodes. For context, the original live-action Daredevil series on Netflix lasted three seasons and 39 episodes between 2015 and 2018.

However, we could see the hero in action as early as this year in She-Hulk. The trailer contains an almost certain hint of the Devil in the end. Following that, there are rumours of the really good lawyer appearing in the Disney Plus series Echo in 2023, a character from comics with whom he has a long history.

    Who are the cast members?

Only Charlie Cox (Daredevil) and Vincent D’Onofrio (Kingpin) have been confirmed as cast members. However, the fact that these two actors were not recast is a strong indication that Marvel may keep the majority of the cast from the original Netflix series.

Hopefully, Deborah Ann Woll will reprise her role as Karen Page, and Elden Henson will play Matt Murdoch’s best friend and law firm partner Foggy Nelson, and they will pick up where “Nelson, Murdoch, and Page” Avocados at Law left off.

    Daredevil: Born Again’s possible storyline.

Although nothing about the plot of Daredevil: Born Again has been revealed. However, the title may give some hints.

Yes, “Born Again” could simply refer to the fact that a previously cancelled show has been resurrected. However, it also shares the name of a storyline from issues #227–231. Born Again is one of Marvel Comics’ darkest plotlines, and if replicated, would be heavier than anything the MCU has yet committed to screen. This brings us to the next question.

Will it be as Dark as the Netflix series?

Prior to this, the first three seasons of Daredevil were among the most bloody and brutal shows on television. As a result, some fans wonder if the show will keep the same tone under the new Disney banner, which is known for being family friendly.

The good news is that Disney brought Marvel’s Rated R — Logan and both Deadpool films with parental guidance labels just before SDCC 2022. So we can expect Daredevil to receive the same treatment, with the same tone and storylines that fans will enjoy.
